The Jay County Historical Society preserves the history of the early communities of Jay County, Indiana, for present and future generations.  The museum, which is operated by the Society, has many items that help relate the history of our county, including an authentic covered wagon, a horse-drawn mail wagon, Indian artifacts, Civil War and World War relics, documents signed by Abraham Lincoln, county school memorabilia, clothing from various periods, and a reference library.  On display are several exhibits, including a blacksmith shop and an early one-room school.
